Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition MP2
This article provides recommendations of the Citrix experts how to configure anti-virus application installed on one server with Citrix Presentation Server. These recommendations have been adapted to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition.
- In the Real-time file protection task set the protection mode to Smart mode (right-click Real-time file protection > Properties > the Protection mode tab).
- In the Real-time file protection task set scan for local disks only.
- In the Real-time file protection task exclude from scan the pagefile.
- In the Real-time file protection task exclude from scan Print Spooler directory to accelerate speed of the task processing.
- If during the Anti-Virus installation you agreed to add some system folders to the trusted zone (by Microsoft recommendations) then these folders are already excluded from scan by Anti-Virus tasks.
- In the Real-time file protection task exclude from scan the folder \Program Files\Citrix. This folder stores access cache of local hosts and the Resource Manager database.
- When using ICA pass-through connections, on client computer exclude from scan by the locally installed anti-virus the folder Presentation Server Client and the cache folder for bit images (Documents and Settings\<user_account>\Application Data\ICAClient\Cache).
- If users are connecting to a published desktop, then in order to improve performance of the server clients right-click Kaspersky-Anti-Virus > select Properties > go to the Additional tab > and clear the box Display application icon in the taskbar.
- In the trusted zone of Kaspersky Anti-Virus disable scan of files which were accessed during the backup operation (check the box Do not check files backup operations on the Trusted processes tab.
Citrix recommends before installing the antivirus application onto the main server it should be installed and tested in a controlled test environment before deployment to the production environment.
