If you use Kaspersky Administration Kit to manage all Kaspersky Anti-Viruses in the logical network remotely, we recommend that you add Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition into the network.
To add Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition into the logical network, do the following:
1. To any group add the administration server onto which you are going to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition.
2. On the protected server install Administration Agent – a component of the Kaspersky Administration Kit complex. The Agent’s version should be not below that 6.0.1565. The Agent can be installed:
3. In the Administration Console from the context menu of the server which you are going to protect by Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition run the Synchronize command. Make sure the command has been applied (no synchronization errors were displayed) and the computer icon has become bright.
If the command has not been applied, check the reasons why the Agent failed to connect to the Administration Server.
4. On the protected server install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition. To install the Anti-Virus remotely, do the folloiwng:
1. Using the file \server\kavws.kpd, from the Anti-Virus distributive, create an installation package for the Anti-Virus. In the properties of the installation package you can configure installation of the Anti-Virus system tasks.
2. Based on the created installation package create and run the remote install task for the Anti-Virus.
You can install the Anti-Virus by any other method, but to manage the application remotely via Kaspersky Administration Kit the Kaspersky Administration Kit Integration module should necessarily be installed together with the server part of the Anti-Virus Kaspersky. This module provides connection between the Anti-Virus and the Administration Agent.
5. Create and configure the policy for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition.
6. Create and configure update and on-demand scan group tasks for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition.
In the update group task you are recommended to set the update schedule to After receiving update by Administration server. In this case the Anti-Virus downloads new databases and patches from the Administration Server immediately after they are uploaded on the server. Parameters of the section Task start settings are ignored.
Pay attention, the update task of the Administration Server starts downloading updates of databases and patches for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition approximately in about an hour after the first synchronization of the Administration Agent installed on the secured server with the Administration Server.
