Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition MP1/MP2

A special algorithm has been embedded into Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition MP1 to accelerate the application productivity. This algorithm allows evaluating if the file contains any threats or not. The evaluation is based on the release dates of the anti-virus databases with which the first and the last scan of the file was performed and on the dates of the file creation. Any Kaspersky Anti-Virus task could perform the scan: Real-time file protection or any on-demand scan task.

WarningIf the file has been modified then the algorithm will not be applied to it till this file has been scanned by the Anti-Virus twice.

This algorithm can be enabled for each task individually: in the task properties check the box Scan only new and changed files. By default this box is checked in all tasks.

Once the box Scan only new and changed files is unchecked, you can enable this algorithm for each type of compound objects in the Process compound objects section.

If the box Scan only new and changed files is checked then the algorithm is applied to all compound objects checked for scan.

Warning This algorithm is not applied to the objects embedded in compound objects.

Results of the scan in the task event log for the object which was not scanned by Kaspersky Anti-Virus by this algorithm are the same for both types of tasks –the event log will present information that the object is not infected while it has not been modified.
