Applies to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition MP2

Problem description: DCOM error 10016 may be generated in the event log on a terminal server running Microsoft Windows server 2003.

Reason: There are special user accounts on a terminal server of the type Ctx_SmaUser (in case of using Citrix software). Such user accounts are initially present on a server and have limited access permissions. The service Kaspersky Anti-Virus Interceptor does not have permissions to analyze scripts in processes run by such limited user accounts.

Solution: it is necessary to customize the conflicting user account in the DCOM component service for the service Kaspersky Anti-Virus Interceptor in order to eliminate this error. It is fulfilled in the following way:

  • Start > Run > dcomcnfg
  • Select DCOM config and choose Kaspersky Anti-Virus Script Interceptor
  • Right-click it and open Properties
  • Go to the Security tab and select Edit in the section Launch and activation permissions
  • Add the conflicting user account and check the box allowing Local Activation.
