First of all update anti-virus databases and scan your computer using extended set of antivirus databases.
If Kaspersky Anti-Virus has not detected any malicious programs on your PC then probably your home page and search engine settings have been changed by a script when visiting a “suspicious” site. In this case you are recommended to do the following:
1. Install all updates of Microsoft for Internet Explorer of the version you are using.
2. Delete all temporary files of Internet Explorer.
3. Manually check and change registry keys:
-
the SearchURL parameter in the section HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
-
the Search Bar parameter in the section HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
-
the Search Page parameter in the section HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
-
the SearchAssistant parameter in the section HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search
-
the SearchAssistant parameter in the section HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search
4. In future try to avoid visiting “suspicious” sites.
If you find that the manipulations with the system registry described above are too complicated, you can use the utility AVZ. Close Internet Explorer while performing the following steps:
- Download the utility AVZ.com to your PC.
- Run the file avz.com.
- Go to File > System restore. Check the boxes 3 - Restore Internet Explorer start page and 4 – Reset Internet Explorer search settings to default.

- Click the button Execute selected operations.
