Quarantine is a special storage area that holds objects potentially infected with viruses.
Potentially infected objects are objects that are suspected of being infected with viruses or modifications of them.
By default quarantine is scanned after each signatures update. To disable scan of the quarantine, do the following:
- Open the main application window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0\Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0
- Click Settings in the upper menu
- Go to Service > Update
- In the right part of the window uncheck Rescan Quarantine
- Click OK

Note: the dialog windows for Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 are the same but with corresponding product names and number of the real-time protection components.
