In Anti-Virus of the given versions (if it is managed locally) “full” computer scan is considered to be the predefined Scan My Computer task. It does not depend on the list of the areas under scan – even if you exclude some areas from scan before you run Scan My Computer task – the performed task means full computer scan has been performed.
By remote management via Kaspersky Administration Kit the group (global) task to be “full” computer scan task includes the following objects:
- System memory,
- Startup objects,
- System backup storage,
- All hard drives,
- All removable drives.
My Computer scan area comprises all the five above mentioned areas that is why in order to perform full scan you should only check My Computer box.
If you manage the Anti-Virus application remotely and have predefined the „Scan My Computer“ task on a client computer then the Server will get the message about the successful „full“ scan of the client computer even the user has excluded some areas from scan (as if the Anti-Virus were managed locally). That is why Kaspersky Lab experts do not recommend predefining this task on a client computer but creating a group task of the on-demand scan task
For anti-virus applications versions 6.0.2.678 - 6.0.2.690

“Full” computer scan is the on-demand scan task whose object is My computer.

Even if all computer drives are included in the list of the scanned objects but the option My computer is not selected such type of scan is not considered to be full.
If you receive a message that your computer has not been scanned for a long time then probably the on-demand scan task, created during the antivirus installation, has been canceled. And instead of the default task a manually created task is fulfilled in which the option My computer is not checked.
This fact should be borne in mind by the administrators who use Kaspersky Administration Kit for remote antivirus administration when configuring notifications about the antivirus network protection state. Your computer has not been scanned for a long time message will be registered on the client's computer till the option My computer is not checked in the On-Demand settings.
