Concerning all Kaspersky Lab’s products
Problem: You updated your anti-virus databases (threat signatures) and in the interface of your Kaspersky Lab’s product noticed that the number of records in the anti-virus databases (threat signatures) used by the product has decreased.
Cause: This is not an update error. Kaspersky Lab’s virus analysts constantly try to optimize the update process; hence the decrease of number of known threats. As a result the quality of the downloaded anti-virus databases (threat signatures) is improved as they take less volume.
Resolution: You are recommended to update on a daily basis whereas the number of records may vary due to regularity of the update process.
