Concerning to ­Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 SOS

The application performs the following functions: 

  • Search and disinfection of a malicious code by on demand of the user or administrator: search and analysis of infected and suspicious objects in the defined scan areas; disinfection; deletion of infected and isolation of suspicious objects for further analysis.

Note: when scanning objects by Kaspersky ­Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 SOS it is recommended to disable real-time protection of the main anti-virus product.   • Updating anti-virus databases and application modules from the Kaspersky Lab servers; creating backup copy of all updated files in order to rollback the latest update if necessary; Saving the downloaded updates to a local folder and granting access to these updates to other computers in the LAN to economize the Internet-traffic.

 

  • Sending suspicious objects to quarantine: saving detected suspicious objects in the quarantine folder, sending them to Kaspersky Lab for analysis if necessary, and restoring objects from the storage on demand of the user/administrator.

 

  • Creating the copy of an infected object in the backup before deletion or disinfection, in order to restore the object on demand of the user, if it is of any informational value.
