  • When purchasing Kaspersky Anti-Virus via OnLine the key file that is necessary for antivirus pack to function normally (What is a key file?) is sent by e-mail. Save the received key file on a hard drive of your computer and when installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus, specify the path to the key (its file, but not its number). Sometimes your mail client (usually it is MicroSoft Outlook Express 6.0) blocks the received key file as potentially dangerous. In this case, change the MicroSoft Outlook Express 6.0 settings. You can get more detailed information about it in the link: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.0 blocks the key file for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal. To save the file on the hard drive, do the following:

  • Open the mail with the key file
  • Left-click the attached key file
  • In the context menu select Save as:
  • In the open window select the folder where the key file will be saved (in the example the key file is saved on the desktop)

After it the Kaspersky Anti-Virus installation can be started. You can find the information about how to install a key file during the installation process in the link: Installing license key files.
