Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 (all builds)
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 (all builds)
  • Exclusions are managed via the Trusted zone in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.

Exclusion masks can be only created for the components File Anti-Virus, Mail Anti-Virus, Proactive Defense, the Scan tasks and Protection of confidential data (for Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 only). Exclusion masks allow adding exclusion by:

    • Object - exclusion of a certain object, directory, or files that match a certain mask from scans.
    • Threat type - exclude objects from scans based on the status assigned to them from the Virus Encyclopedia.

The following parameters can be configured/ modified for the Object type:

    • Define file, folder or mask excluded from scan
    • Define exclusions for subfolders, if a definite folder is given as an exclusion
    • Define component(s) and tasks for which the exclusion will work

The following parameters can be configured/ modified for the Threat type type:

    • Define the name/ mask of the threat verdict according to the Kaspersky Lab Virus Encyclopedia
    • Define component(s) and tasks for which the exclusion will work
    • Assign advanced conditions for applying rules in the Advanced settings field. In most cases, this field is filled in automatically when you add an exclusion rule from a Proactive Defense notice. You can add advanced settings for the following threat types, among others:
      • Invader. For this threat type, you can give a name, mask, or complete path to the object being embed (for example, a .dll file) as an additional exclusion condition.
      • Starting Internet Browser. For this threat type, you can list browser open settings as additional exclusion settings.

For example: Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is installed on your PC. You blocked browsers from opening with certain settings in the Proactive Defense application activity analysis.

However, you want to allow the browser to open for the domain www.kaspersky.com with a link from Microsoft Office Outlook as an exclusion rule. Configure the corresponding exclusion for it the following way:

    • Open the main application window
    • click the Settings button
    • click Threats and exclusions
    • in the right aprt of the window click the Trusted zone button
    • in the Trusted zone window on the tab Exclusion masks click the Add button
    • In the Exclusion mask window click the Specify link next to Object name
    • In the Object name window click the Browse button and add the outlook.exe file. Select the necessary folder with the file or enter the full path to file
    • Click OK
    • In the Exclusion mask window enable Threat type
    • Next to Threat type in the lower part of the window click the Specify link
    • In the Threat type window in the Specify the name/threat  type mask field enter Starting Internet Browser
    • Enable Advanced settings
    • In the Advanced settings field enter the address of the Kaspersky Lab website www.kaspersky.com
    • Click OK
    • In the lower part of the Exclusion mask window next to Component click the File Anti-Virus link
    • In the Exclusion scope window check Proactive Defense only
    • Click OK in each window
    • Minimize the main application window

After it the Proactive Defense component will trigger when the www.kaspersky.com link is opened from Microsoft Office Outlook.

Information The dialog windows for Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 are the same but with corresponding product names and the number of Protection components.
