Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 (all builds)
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 (all builds)
  • Warning To update Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 from a local folder one computer with access to Internet and with Kaspersky Labs product version 7.0 installed on it is needed, version of products installed should coincide. If on the computer with the Internet access version 7.0.0.125 is installed and on another computer without the Internet access a different version – for example version 7.0.1.321 – is installed, in this case the update procedure of version 7.0.1.321 with the databases of version 7.0.0.125 will end with an error; as a result the anti-virus databases will not be updated.

Kaspersky Labs products version 7.0 can copy updates of threat signatures and program modules to a local source (disc folder, network resource). To update threat signatures or program modules from a local folder and to distribute these update on computer(s) in the local network at least one computer with Internet access is required.

If several Kaspersky Labs products version 7.0 are installed in the local network then each copy can be configured to update from a local folder. To configure the product update from a local folder, do the following:

    • configure one computer to update from Internet from the Kaspersky Lab servers
    • on this computer share the folder \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP7\Update distribution

Information By default the folder is hidden. If you want to copy updates into this folder, click My Computer > in the Tools menu select Folder Options > go to the View folder > in the list check Show hidden files and folders.

Next configure the databases to be copied to a local folder:

    • Open the main application window
    • click the Settings button
    • click the Update link
    • In the right part of the window click the Configure button
    • go to the Additional tab
    • enable the option Update distribution folder
    • click the Browse button to define not a default folder
    • click the OK button to close each window
    • run update of anti-virus databases

To update computer(s) in the local network, share the update folder (in our case it is the Updates folder in the root directory C:\) or copy the update folder on the target computers. But first configure each target computer the following way:

    • open the main application window
    • click the Settings button
    • click the Update menu
    • click the Configure button in the right part of the window
    • on the Update source tab clear the box Kaspersky Labs’ update servers
    • click the Add button
    • browse the update distribution folder
    • click OK
    • run the update process

Information The dialog windows of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 und Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 are the same but with the corresponding product names and the number of Protection components.
