ID Article: 1440    Other languages:  Deutsch  Polski  Русский      Views for 7 days 36    Last modified on 2009 Jun 03 11:14 Printable version

Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 (all builds)
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 (all builds)
  • Sometimes when using Kaspersky Lab product version 7.0 there might occur conflicts in co-work with third-party applications installed on your computer; as these programs have an embedded self-protection mechanism which triggers when Kaspersky Lab product version 7.0 tries to embed into them. To such applications refer, for example, Authentica plug-in for program Adobe Reader, which checks access to the documentation in pdf-format, the program to manage mobile phones Oxygen Phone Manager 2, and some types of games which are hack-protected.

The option Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection methods has been added to Kaspersky Labs products version 7.0. This option switches one of the program drivers into an alternative working mode.

Information In Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 to enable the driver alternative working mode the modules Anti-Dialer and Protection of confidential data should be disabled. Plug-in of the Anti-Spam component for Outlook Express and Windows Mail will not be loaded as some interceptors in Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 do not function in the compatibility mode.

If after installation of Kaspersky Lab product version 7.0 some third party applications and/or games stopped running - you are recommended to enable the option Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection methods. You can do it the following way:

    • open the main application window
    • click the Settings button
    • in the left part of the Settings window click Protection
    • in he right part of the Settings window in the Compatibility section check the box Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection methods

Information If Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is installed on your PC, then a message will be displayed on the screen informing you that the modules Anti-Dialer and Protection of confidential data will be disabled. Click Yes to continue

    • click OK
    • minimize the main application window
    • reboot your computer

If you would like to enable one of the program modules after the option Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection methods has been activated, in this case this option will be disabled automatically and the module will be enabled after the PC reboot.

Information The dialog windows of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 are the same but with corresponding product names and the number of Protection components.
