When installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 7.0 the Setup Wizard suggests setting Interactive protection:
Basic protection: in Basic protection the modules Application Activity analyzer is enabled. For Application Activity the following functions are enabled:
dangerous behaviour (analysis of the application behaviour in the system)
intrusion into process (invaders)
hidden processes (rootkit)
suspicious values in registry
suspicious system activities
keylogger detection
If you use Windows Vista only the function dangerous behavior is available.
Interactive protection: in Interactive protection the following extended modules are enabled by on-demand of the user:
Enable Firewall Training Mode. By default Firewall functions in Low security mode. Working in this mode Firewall uses predefined rules for applications and packages created by Kaspersky Lab experts and based on many years of experience. In the Training Mode Firewall allows the user to allow or to ban access to applications that try to connect to Internet.
Enable registry Guard allows the user to control any changes in the system registry of Windows OS.
Enable Application Integrity Control: traces all attempts of the modules to load in the controlled applications
Enable Extended Proactive Defense: includes Application Activity Analyzer. It is extended by the following functions:
launching internet browser with parameters,
window hooks
Select the necessary protection type for the Interactive protection component and click Next to continue initial setting of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 7.0.
The dialog windows of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 are the same but with corresponding product names.
