  • Step 1: If you purchased Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 on a disc, then the installation process starts automatically after the Setup disc is inserted into the CD-ROM drive. If you have purchased the product in E-Store you get a link to an executable setup file which should be launched manually. If the Setup disc does not run automatically you also need to run the executable installation file manually. For it select a disc and a folder where Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 7.0 setup file is located and double-click the executable file. After you run the executable setup file the Setup Wizard of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 7.0 is launched.

    Click Next to continue.

    Step 2: Read the End user license agreement of Kaspersky Lab. Click I accept the terms of the license agreement to continue.

    Step 3: choose the setup type that best suits your needs. 

    • Custom installation - allow users to choose which program features will be installed. 
    • Express installation – installs some anti-virus protection features only, but protection parameters can be changed during installation.

    Click the Custom installation icon to continue.

    Step 4: Select the folder in which to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 7.0. The default destination folder is 

    • for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 the folder C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 
    • for Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 the folder C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0

    Click Browse to change the destination folder. Click Disc usage to see how much disc space is available on your hard disc. Click Next to continue.

    Step 5: On this step you should choose the components you want to install: 

    • Virus Scan 
    • File Anti-Virus 
    • Mail Anti-Virus 
    • Web Anti-Virus
    • Proactive Defense 
    • Firewall (available in Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 only) 
    • Privacy Control (available in Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 only) 
    • Anti-Spam (available in Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 only) 
    • Parental Control (available in Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 only)

    Choose the components you need to install. Click Next to continue.

    Step 6: Setup wizard is ready to copy service files onto the hard disc. It is not recommended to disable the Enable Self-Defense option in case your computer is virus infected. Disable the option if you do not want to enable the application self-defense before installation. Click Next.

     

    Step 7: once program files are copied and the modules are registered the Setup Wizard suggests activating Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.

    Click Next to continue after the product activation.

    Step 8: the Setup Wizards configures Proactive defense component.

    Step 9: the Setup Wizard configures database update.

    Step 10: the Setup Wizard configures scan of computer areas. You can get more detailed information about the step in the article: Initial setting of scan computer areas in Kaspersky Labs products version 7.0

    Step 11: on this Step the Setup Wizard offers to enable program password protection. Check the option Enable password protection, enter the password and confirm it, select the operations for which the password will be valid and click Next.

     

    Step 12: the Setup Wizard configures the Firewall component. You can get more detailed information about the step in the article: Initial setting of Firewall in Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0

    Information Step 12 is missing in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 as the Firewall component is a part of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 only.

     

    Step 13: on this step you are suggested to restart your computer. Click Finish to finish installation of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.

     

    InformationThe dialog windows for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 are the same but with the corresponding product names.
