System rolls back to the previous configuration when upgrading from Windows XP to Windows Vista with Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0/7.0/2009 installed.

If you upgrade your Windows XP to Windows Vista with Kaspersky Lab’s product version 6.0\7.0\2009 installed on the computer, at the end of the system upgrade the system rolls back to the previous configuration – i.e. to Windows XP.
This problem is connected with the features of the above mentioned OS’s. Kaspersky Lab’s products versions 6.0\7.0\2009 use different drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista and these drivers are incompatible with each other. Considering these facts migration from one OS to another OS with Kaspersky Lab’s product version 6.0\7.0\2009 installed, is impossible.
To migrate from Windows XP to Windows Vista, do the following:
uninstall the currently installed product version
run installation of Windows Vista
after successful migration to another OS download the latest version of Kaspersky Lab’s product from the official site: http://www.kaspersky.com/productupdates
