One of the new features of MicroSoft Outlook Express 6.0 is block attachment feature. In some cases it can be useful but if you enable this function inadvertently it can cause problems, because MicroSoft Outlook Express 6.0 may treat useful files as potentially dangerous and block access to them. When this function is enabled Outlook Express blocks an attachment, the following alert is displayed in the message alert bar at the top of the e-mail message: Outlook Express removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail and the attachment with the Confirm open after download option checked will be blocked. To disable blocking of attachments in MicroSoft Outlook Express 6.0, do the following:
Go to Microsoft Outlook Express 6.0 > Tools > Options > Security > Virus protection > uncheck Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus
Close the Options window by pressing OK
To change the way of processing a specific type of files protected by this function, do the following:
Go to My Computer > Tools > Folder options > File types > select the necessary type of files in the list > press Advanced > Edit File Type > uncheck Confirm open after download
