Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1

Kaspersky Administration Kit gives the possibility to force updates of the anti-virus databases on slave Administration Servers and on all client computers in the logical network. Each time the master (or the only) Server gets new anti-virus databases (and/ or patches for applications) the Server will send the signal to update to the slave-Server and to all client computers in the logical network

Forced update of the slave Servers

In order slave Servers would download updates from the master Server immediately after the master Server update procedure:

1. in the update task of the master Server on the Settings tab check the box Force update of slave servers.

2. create the update task of the slave server and on the Settings tab click the Add button and select Master Administration Server as the update source.

Forced update of client computers

To enable this mode, do the following:

1. in the subfolder Group tasks of the Groups group create an update group task for each anti-virus application – as an update source select Administration Server

Information If you have launched Initial settings wizard, then two update tasks are already created – for Kaspersky anti-Virus for Windows Workstations versions 5.0 and 6.0.

 2. on the Schedule tab of the update task set the scheduled run to On receipt of updates by Administration Server.

Once the necessary settings are configured:

  • client computers of the master (or the only) Server will take new databases/patches from this Server immediately after its update.

  • the update task will be launched from the slave Server on client computers of slave Servers. And the task will not run unless the slave Server has been successfully updated from the master Server.
