Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1

The data can be restored from a backup with the help of the klbackup utility from the Kaspersky Administration Kit distribution package.

After the Administration Server is installed the utility is saved in the folder in the installation directory (Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit) and when launched from a command prompt copies and restores the data from the backup.

Utility syntax:

klbackup [-logfile LOGFILE] -path BACKUP_PATH [-restore] -password PASSWORD

Keys description:

  • - logfile LOGFILE – Save report about restoring the Administration Server database.

  •  -path BACKUP_PATH – use the data from the BACKUP_PATH folder to restore data (mandatory parameter).

  •  -restore – restores backed up Administration Server database. The data is restored based on the information from the BACKUP_PATH folder. If the key is not defined, the data is additionally backed up to the BACKUP_PATH folder.

  •  -password PASSWORD –restore the Administration Server certificate and use a password defined by the PASSWORD parameter to decrypt the certificate (mandatory parameter).

Information A password which consists of several words should be taken into inverted commas.

When restoring and backing up the certificate the same password should be defined.

WarningIf the password is lost, the database cannot be restored!

To restore the data from the backup on the computer with the Administration Server installed run the klbackup utility with the necessary set of keys from the command prompt.

Example: to restore the backup from the Administration Server database from the folder E:\Backup, log the report file and restore the Server certificate – it was saved with the password 12345. The command prompt will look the following way:

klbackup -logfile E:\Backup\log.txt -path E:\Backup -restore -password 12345

WarningIf when restoring the Administration Server database, the path to the folder has changed: check correctness of the tasks execution (download updates and remote install tasks) which require specifying a folder and if necessary make changes in the tasks settings.
