Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1

Warning Before installing a license key, make sure the correct system date is set on a client computer!

You can create the task of the license key remote install using the Quick Start Wizard and launch the wizard:

  • from the Global tasks node. A global task is created.

  • from the Licenses node by the Install a license key command. A global task is created.

  • from the Group tasks subfolder of any group. In this case the Select computers step is missing. A group task is created for the group.

The wizard's steps are the following:

1. In the welcome window click Next.

2. Enter the name of the task and click Next.

3. In the Select application window select the application to perform a task. In the Application list choose the necessary application, and in the Task type – choose License key installation task.

If you are creating the task from the Licenses node then in this window the Task type list is missing. You should only select an application for which to install the key.

Click Next.

4. In the next window define the path to the key file which should be installed (click the Browse button). Pay attention, on this stage the key is not checked if it corresponds to the application selected or not.

If the key should be used after installation, check the Use as the current license key checkbox.

Warning For some products the option is called Use as a reserved license key or Install this license key as a reserve key

If the key is installed as a reserve one, it starts functioning when the current key file expires. If it is installed as active or no key is installed on a client computer, the key is activated immediately after its installation.

Click Next.

5. In the Select computers window select the clients for which to install the key. The step is missing if you run the wizard from the context menu of the Tasks folder of a group.

Check the computers on which the key should be installed. The Network group is imaged in the same way as it is in the console tree.

Click Next after you have selected target computers.

6. In the next window you can define the user account under which the task will start. Leave the default option – Default account.

Click Next to continue.

7.

In the Task scheduling settings window select the task start mode and click Next.

Information In order the key installation task would start on completion of another task select On completing another task. However you cannot select here remote installation task due to software restrictions.

The start modes for the key installation task are usually either Manually or Once, and the task is started once remote installation task is finished.

8. In the Completing the New Task Wizard window of product deployment task to confirm the task creation, click Finish

Then the task will appear:

  • in the Global tasks node (global task), if the wizard was launched from this node or from the Licenses node.
  • in the Group tasks folder of the group for which the task was created.

Warning  The key appears in the Licenses node only after it has been installed at least on one client.
