Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1
Information about all license keys installed on clients’ computers of the logical network is stored in the Licenses node of the console tree. This information is sent by client computers included in the logical network to the Server.
Information about the keys that are added to the installation packages or for which the key install task has been created but that are not installed yet on the Clients is not displayed in the node.
Notifications about the number of licenses used
Three types of notifications can notify the administrator about the licenses in use (you can configure notifications in the settings of the Administration Server on the Event processing tab):
- License restriction for this license key used by more than 90%– message of the Info event severity level informs that the licenses in use are going to be limited soon. The administrator should think of buying some more additional licenses if the number of clients in the logical network is going to increase.
- License restriction for this key exceeded – message of the Warning event severity level informs that the key is installed on the number of computers that equals the number of licenses defined by the key: i.e. further key installation is considered as breaking the license agreement with Kaspersky Labs.
- License restriction for this key exceeded – message of the Critical severity level informs that that the key is installed on number of computers exceeding 10% the license number defined by the key: i.e. the license agreement with Kaspersky Labs has been broken.
The period to store the message on the Server database (in the Events node) and parameters to send notifications when the event occurs can be configured in the lower part of the window for each kind of the message individually! In order to set the notifications parameters centralized for all kind of events, click the Select all button and then the Properties button. In the open window configure the necessary settings.
Notifications about the key file expiration
The Antivirus, installed on the client’s computer, forms and sends on the Administration Server messages notifying that the license key is going to expire soon or has already expired.
Two types of keys – active that “functions” from the moment it is installed, and backup that starts functioning, after the active key has expired – can be installed on the client’s computer. If two keys are installed on the computer and the backup key validity is more than that of the active key, then the messages notifying of the key expiry are sent when the validity of the backup key is coming to an end.
You can configure license key notification parameters in the anti-virus application policy on the Event processing tab.
- License has expired - the message is of the Critical events severity level.
- License is about to expire - the message of the Warning events severity level appears 14 days before the license key expires and is displayed every day till it expires.
To create a report on the status of license keys installed on clients, it is more convenient to use the built-in report template, Licensing report, or create a new template. The report created using the Licensing report template displays complete information on all license keys installed on clients and on both current and backup keys and specifies computer names and license conditions.
Report about the license keys in use
To cerate the report, go to the Reports node of the console tree and in the context menu of the Licensing report template choose the Generate command. As a result the report is generated.
To change the fields in the report choose the Properties command in the context menu of the template and in the open window set the parameters of the report.
