Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition
  • Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1
  • Beginning from version 6.0.1565 Kaspersky Administration Kit allows managing Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition remotely. Nevertheless it should be born in mind that implementation of this application in the logical network and its further management have some peculiarities.

    1. Installation

Installation of Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition is performed remotely using Kaspersky Administration Kit. The installation procedure consists of two steps: 1) KAV Mobile EE Installer utility is installed on a computer in the corporate network by running a remote install task; 2) a mobile device is connected to the workstation/ server, the utility KAV Mobile EE Installer installs the Anti-Virus on a mobile device.

    2. Connection to the Administration Server.

Administration Agent which established connection of the Anti-Virus with the Administration Server is embedded into the anti-virus application distributive. But it is not mentioned separately in the list of applications installed on the device.

InformationDue to some features of the Agent in Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition synchronization with the Administration Server is one-sided, i.e. connection is initiated by the Administration Agent. Synchronization cannot be performed manually from the Administration Server.
At the moment when the Agent is being synchronized with the Administration Server information about the changes in the working status of the anti-virus application and its events is transferred into the Server and parameters from the Administration Server are received in turn.
By default the synchronization period of the Agent with the Administration Server is 3 hours. This period can be modified in the policy for Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition.

To manage Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition Application control plugin should be installed on all Administration Consoles via which you are going to manage the Anti-Virus. To install the Plugin manually, run the file klcfginst.exe from the Anti-Virus distributive on each computer with the installed Console. Minimize the Console before installing the Plugin onto it.

    3. Set the parameters of Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition.

The application is configured remotely via the policy for Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition. Not locked parameters can be modified in the properties of a client computer with Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile installed: go to the Applications tab > select Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile in the list of the installed applications and click the Properties button.

Application of remotely configured settings of the Anti-Virus can be performed in two ways: :

      • "over the air". If the Administration Server has an external IP-address, in this case the mobile device connects to it via the Internet, using GPRS.

      • via LAN. When connecting a mobile device to a computer in the LAN (using the cable or cradle) the installed Anti-Virus detects the Administration Server itself and performs the synchronization.

By default, the Anti-Virus tries to synchronize with the Administration Server every 3 hours – this parameter can also be changed in the policy of Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile Enterprise Edition. Server synchronization with the Agent (manual synchronization) is not supported.

    4.  Tasks of Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile 6.0 Enterprise Edition

No tasks can be managed remotely.

    5. Anti-Virus database update

Application supports database update via the Internet only. The application does not update from the Administration Server.
