1. Installation
Kaspersky Anti-Virus can be installed on Linux workstations and file servers manually only from the product distributive. Kaspersky Administration Kit does not allow installing/ uninstalling the product remotely.
2. Connecting to the Administration Server
To connect Linux- client computer to the Administration Server, Administration Agent should be installed one each Linux- client computer. Distributive of the Administration Agent resides in the same folder with the anti-virus application distributive.
The distributive of the application control plug-in is the same for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux Workstations and for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux File Servers.
The Application control plug-in should be installed, to manage Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux Workstations and File Servers remotely on all Administration Console, via which you are going to manage Kaspersky Anti-Virus.
For it on every computer with the Console installed, run the file klcfginst.exe that resides in the same folder with the distributive for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux Workstations and File Servers. The Console should be closed before the Plug-in installation.
3. Setting real-time protection
Real-time protection settings can be configured via the policy for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux Workstations and File Servers.
In order to stop real-time protection, uncheck the Enable real-time protection task option on the Settings tab of the Anti-Virus policy.
Real-time protection task is not displayed in the list of tasks of a client computer! To know the status of the task, go to the Protection tab in the properties of a client computer.
4. Setting on-demand scan
The parameters of on-demand scan are configured in the corresponding local, group or global task. Policy is not applied to this task.
5. Updating anti-virus databases
The update mode can be set in the corresponding local, group or global task. The policy is not applied to this task.
Pay attention you cannot define “Kaspersky Administration Server” as an update source in the update task. For the Anti-Virus not to download the updates from the Kaspersky Lab’s Server, do the following:
1. Configure FTP- or HTTP-server in the network
2. Configure the update folder that resides on the Administration Server (by default, C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Updates) to be copied on the FTP- or HTTP-server.
3. In the update task of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux Workstations and File Servers on the Settings tab select the variant FTP-, HTTP-servers and specify the path to the folder with the databases on the Administration Server.
6. Installing a key file: a key file can be installed locally only. A license key file cannot be installed remotely.
