Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1
The logical network is designed in the Kaspersky Administration Kit main window in the Groups group by creating hierarchy of folders and by adding client computers to them. The structure of the logical network: list, hierarchy and structure of administration groups are defined preliminary when projecting.
Logical network is based on the Administration Server: i.e. to form the network, connect to the specific Server.
The logical network can be:
- created based on Windows domain or workstations structure.
- created manually, by your own design.
To form the logical network by your own design, form the hierarchy of groups by creating embedded groups and adding the necessary computers and slave Administration Servers to the groups.
To create the logical network, use the Quick Start Wizard. The wizard adds computers to the groups and also allows configuring minimum necessary parameters for the complex to function. Using the Wizard you can:
- automatically transfer client computers from the Network folder to the Groups group – administration groups with computers added to them will be created similarly to the already existing domains.
- configure notification parameters about the events of the complex work.
The defined notification parameters are displayed in the Administration Server properties. If the notification settings are specified in the Global notification settings window, you will not have to specify them in each task or policy.
- create the policy and some tasks of the upper hierarchy level for Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations versions 5.0 and 6.0;
- create the update task of the updates' storage on the Administration Server.
Once created policy or task cannot be created again.
It is not mandatory to launch the Quick Start Wizard: the previously mentioned operations can be executed manually.
The Quick Start Wizard can be launched by the command with the same name from the context menu of the Administration Server.
