How to manage Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition remotely via Kaspersky Administration Kit

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition can be managed by Kaspersky Administration Kit version 5.0.0474 and above remotely. But in comparison with other Kaspersky Lab antivirus products remote managing of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition as well as its embedding in the logical network of the product and further managing has some peculiarities:

    1. Installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition on ISA-server(s) or an array of servers is installed manually using the product distributive. Kaspersky Administration Kit does not allow install/uninstall this application in a remote way.

    2. Connecting to the Administration Server

    Irrespective of the number of the ISA-servers in the net, whether they create an array or not, all the antivirus applications installed should be connected to the Administration Server. To do it, install Administration Agent on all ISA-servers and add these machines to the logical net as Clients.

    NOTE! To manage Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition remotely, an Administration Agent version 5.0.0474 should be deployed. That is why:

      • when navigating from Kaspersky Administration Kit version 5.0.0474 to newer complex versions on a client computer with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition you do not need to install new version of the Network Agent. 
      • If you install Kaspersky Administration Kit (version 5.0.1104 and above) for the first time, then install Network Agent version 5.0.0474 on a computer on which Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition is installed (or is going to be installed).
        Download Kaspersky Network Agent 5.0.0474 installation package.

    3. Configuring the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition settings

    This antivirus product can be configured in the properties on a client computer (the Application tab) where Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition is installed. Select this antivirus product in the list of the installed applications and click Properties.

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition can not be managed via policies. Policies are not used to manage Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Server 2000 Enterprise Edition.

    4. Tasks of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition

    The Anti-Virus tasks is managed on the Tasks tab of the client computer where Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition is installed. Thus only local tasks can be created for this application. Installing license key is an exception – this task can be created for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition both as a group or global one.

    5. Anti-Virus database updating

    The antivirus database updating task for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition can be created only as a local one (on the Tasks tab of the client computer with the antivirus installed). To configure the antivirus database updates from the Administration Servers, select Administration Server as a source of update in the task properties. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.6 for ISA Servers 2000 Enterprise Edition can not be updated using push technology of Kaspersky Administration Kit.
