Kaspersky Administration Kit and Windows XP Simple File Sharing

In some cases you may face a problem of adding an antivirus pack via Administration Kit on the computer. The properties of the computer are the following:

- OS Windows is installed
- The computer is not in the domain, but belongs to some working group
- The option Simple File Sharing is enabled

To rectify the problem, disable the option Simple File Sharing. You can do it the following way:

  • Double-click the My computer icon
  • Select Tools in the upper menu
  • In the drop-down menu select Folder Options
  • In the Folder Options window switch to the View tab
  • In the Advanced settings list uncheck the Simple File Sharing option
  • Click the Apply button
  • Close each window by pressing OK
