Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1

In Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 administrator can find computers in administration groups and/or in the Network container.

Depending on where you want to find the computer, open the Find computers window by the Find computers command from the context menu of:

  • the Groups group, to find computers in the logical network, i.e. computers from a definite administration group;

  • the Network container (in any view) to search computers found during the network scan, i.e. computers from the Network container.

  • Administration Server - <server_name>, to search computers in all nodes (in all administration groups and in the Network container).

In order to search computers on slave Servers, check in the Find computers window the box Include data from slave servers (up to level) and define the level of the slave-Servers.

Information Computer name should be entered in uppercase letters! This demand is connected with the database parameters (lowercase letters may not always be recognized). For example if a host has the name Computer, then enter it as COMPUTER.

In order to find computers with similar names or computer- clones, use the asterix symbol (*) when giving the computer-name.

Warning If you have renamed computers in the logical network, then to search by name used in the logical network, enter the name in the Computer name field.

In order to prevent the errors, it is recommended to use the Computer Windows name field and give the real NetBIOS-computer name.

In the figure as an example is given a real computer name kl-web5, and its name in the logical network is London.

The search results can be saved to a text file (the Export to file button).

Using the context menu for the found computer, you can:

  • for a computer, added to any administration group, on the condition that the connection between the computer and the Administration Server is established (computer icon is bright and colored):
    • see properties of a client computer;
    • launch the Deployment wizard;
    • enforce synchronization with the Administration Server;
    • reset the virus counter;
    • create a task;
    • relocate to another administration group;
    • delete it from an administration group.
  • for a computer added to any administration group, but no connection between the computer and the Administration Server is established (computer icon is colored but not bright):
    • see properties of a client computer. Tasks and list of installed applications of Kaspersky Labs on this client computer are displayed only if these data were saved in the Server database before the connection was broken.
    • relocate it to an administration group by mouse dragging.
  • for a computer which is not added to any administration group (computer from the Network container – it has a grey icon)
    • see properties of a client computer, received during the network scan by the Administration Server
    • relocate to an administration group by mouse dragging.
