Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0 MP1

Pay attention, that:

1. Successful execution of the remote install task using login-script means adding the application installation command into the user’s login-script. Correctness of the application installation is not checked!

2. For the command of the application installation to be added in the login-script of the user, the account specified in the task properties should have the rights to change start scenarios in the database of the domain controller

3. The account for which the application installation is assigned:

      • should have rights of the local administrator on the computer;
      • should have access rights to the shared folder on the Administration Server (by default Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Packages).

InformationIt is recommended to create an installation package for the will-be-installed application before the product deployment task is created.

The product deployment task using login-script-based install can be created with the help of the New task wizard. The wizard can be started:

  • from the task panel of the Global tasks node, by the Add task command. A global task will be created.
  • from the context menu of the selected installation package, by the Install command. In this case Select application step will be missing.

InformationA global task will be created. The product deployment task using login-script-based install can be created only as a global task!

When the task is being created, define/select from the list:

  • Task name. The name should be unique within the group.

  • Task type and the application to perform the task. The step is missing if the task is created from the context menu of the installation package.

In the Applications list select - Kaspersky Administration Kit, in the Task type list – Product deployment task

  • Package to install. The step is missing if the task is created from the context menu of the installation package.

If an installation package for the required application is not created yet, click the New button to run New Package Wizard to create the package.

  • Remote installation method – select Login-script based installation

  • Select accounts for which the changes should be made to the startup script.

Warning If the startup-script into which the command to install the application is made for a group of users, then the application will be installed for all users from this list, even though their accounts have not been selected during the task creation!

  • Account, under which the task will start. It can either be an account under which Administration Server is started (the Default account value) or any other account.

Warning On this step of the task creating the data you have specified are not checked for validity! If you misprint the password or the user's name then the installation command will not be added to login-script or the application will not be installed!

  • Task scheduling settings to change the login-script.

Information Normally, it makes no sense to set periodical start of this task.

Once the task is created the list of users, account under which the task starts, task schedule can be changed and notifications about the task execution can be set.
