How to get Kaspersky Security Center*

Kaspersky Security Center is included in Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business and all tiers of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business – CORE, SELECT and ADVANCED. Whichever Kaspersky solution you choose, Kaspersky Security Center is enabled with only the management tools that are relevant to that specific solution. If you choose to upgrade to a higher tier of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business – or to our ultimate solution, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business – additional management features will be enabled in your Kaspersky Security Center management console.

*All Kaspersky Security Center features are included in Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business. For other Kaspersky solutions, the range of features provided by Kaspersky Security Center varies according to the functionality provided by the specific Kaspersky solution that you purchase.

Endpoint Security Management

Kaspersky Security Center enables the installation, configuration and management of Kaspersky’s endpoint security technologies – so you can manage your business’s defences against known and emerging malware, pre-empt IT security risks and reduce the total cost of protection.

Anti-malware and firewall

Kaspersky Security Center gives you flexible control over Kaspersky’s multi-layer anti-malware technologies:

  • Set and manage protection policies for multiple platforms – including Windows, Linux and Mac
  • Configure protection for groups of servers, workstations or individual devices
  • Scan for viruses – on demand or to your chosen schedule
  • Process any quarantined objects
  • Manage updates of antivirus databases
  • Manage cloud-assisted protection from the Kaspersky Security Network (KSN)
  • Configure and manage Kaspersky’s advanced firewall and Host-based Intrusion Prevention System

Application Control, Device Control and Web Control

Centralised management of a range of controls lets you define policies for specific groups or individuals – so you can deliver additional layers of protection, without significantly increasing the load on administrators:

  • Set your Application Control policies – in order to prevent undesirable programs from running on your network
  • Manage access privileges for devices that users attach to your network – according to the type of device, the bus or the device’s individual serial number
  • Monitor and control web access and privileges – including segmentation of user groups

File server security

Even if there’s just one infected file within your shared file storage, it could affect every computer on your network – so Kaspersky Security Center lets you configure and manage all of the protection functionality that’s delivered by Kaspersky Security for File Server:

  • Manage and control anti-malware protection for:
    • Windows servers
    • Linux file servers
    • Novell NetWare

Encryption

Whereas many encryption products have a reputation for being difficult to deploy and requiring a separate management console, Kaspersky’s encryption technologies can all be managed from the same Kaspersky Security Center console that you use to control other Kaspersky security and systems management applications:

  • Single-policy management lets you set up encryption, anti-malware, device control, application control and other endpoint security settings… within a single policy
  • Centrally manage all encryption settings and policies to encrypt data on:
    • Hard disks – file / folder encryption or full disk encryption
    • Removable devices – file / folder or full disk encryption

Mobile Device Management

With the growing demand for mobile access to corporate systems, Kaspersky Security Center makes it easy to manage Kaspersky’s multi-layer mobile security technologies – to help you protect your business… and implement a secure Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative.

Mobile security management

Kaspersky Security Center gives you detailed control over the deployment of mobile security:

  • Customise and preconfigure mobile endpoint security applications – or an iOS security profile
  • Implement Over the Air (OTA) distribution of mobile security software and other applications – via SMS / email – or distribute the software via the user’s PC
  • Track whether each user has completed security deployment on their device
  • Control or deny access
  • Set policies for groups or job roles – using Active Directory
  • Configure ActiveSync settings

Mobile anti-malware

Kaspersky’s powerful anti-malware technologies deliver multi-layer protection for mobile devices – and Kaspersky Security Center gives you flexible control over all major anti-malware functions:

  • Run anti-malware scans on demand or to your chosen schedule
  • Set up anti-spam – to filter out spam calls and texts (not applicable to iOS)

Application Control for mobile devices

Kaspersky Security Center gives you direct control over whether specific applications are allowed to run on users’ Android mobile devices:

  • Set a Default Allow policy that only blocks blacklisted applications
  • Set a Default Deny policy that only allows whitelisted applications to run
  • Define your policy for dealing with rooting / jailbreak incidents – including wiping data

Encrypting mobile data

In addition to managing data encryption within your IT infrastructure, Kaspersky Security Center also gives you control over the encryption of data within mobile devices:

  • Manage full disk encryption for iOS devices
  • Set up file / folder level encryption (FLE)

Containerisation

Kaspersky Security Center helps you to manage how personal and corporate data are stored within BYOD mobiles:

  • Set up containers – to keep corporate data totally separate from the user’s personal data
  • Manage encryption with the container
  • Manage whether an application is granted access to specific resources within the mobile device
  • Set up data access restrictions
  • Run remote troubleshooting – to investigate application or container issues

Anti-theft

Remote management – via Kaspersky Security Center – means that, even if a mobile device is lost or stolen, you’ll still have control over vital anti-theft functions:

  • Implement the Lock function – to prevent unauthorised access to your corporate network
  • Run the Find function – to discover the approximate location of the missing mobile device
  • Manage the data wipe function – and choose between a selective wipe of corporate data, or resetting the device to its factory settings

When you purchase Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business SELECT or ADVANCED, or Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business or Kaspersky Security for Mobile… all of our mobile device management features will be incorporated into your Kaspersky Security Center console. So you can use the same console to manage your mobile devices, your Kaspersky endpoint security and virtually any other Kaspersky technologies that you run.

Systems Management

In addition to giving you detailed control over your IT security, Kaspersky Security Center also delivers a wide range of systems management functionality that simplifies IT administration tasks – and helps you to boost productivity and cut your operating costs.

Operating system and application image management

Kaspersky Security Center helps you to manage the creation and distribution of computer images:

  • Run computer image cloning
  • Manage the deployment of computer images – including the OS and applications

Software installation

By enabling remote roll-outs of software, Kaspersky Security Center saves you time and can also help to minimise traffic on your network:

  • Control remote software deployment – on demand or to your chosen schedule
  • Manage the load on your network if you need to roll out software to a remote office – by enabling one workstation to act as the update agent for all systems at that office

Asset management and licence management

Kaspersky Security Center helps you to manage your hardware and software assets – and monitor software licences across your IT environment:

  • Monitor all hardware devices on your network – via the automatic inventory of hardware
  • Control the usage of applications and track licence breaches – using information from the software inventory that Kaspersky Security Center generates

Vulnerability scan

After the hardware and software inventories have been generated, you can scan for vulnerabilities from unpatched operating systems and applications:

  • Generate detailed reports on vulnerabilities
  • Assess vulnerabilities and define priorities for patching

Patch management

Following a vulnerability scan, Kaspersky Security Center can help you to distribute urgent patches more efficiently:

  • Control how Microsoft updates and hotfixes are distributed to endpoints on your network
  • Manage the download of patches from Kaspersky’s servers – and manage the distribution of the patches

Network Admission Control (NAC)

In addition to enhancing the automatic discovery of devices on the corporate network, NAC also enables Kaspersky Security Center to make it easier for you to set up policies for visitors’ mobile devices:

  • Manage the policy for granting or denying access to your network
  • Manage the ‘Captive Portal’ that gives visitors Internet access – without granting access to your corporate systems

Choose Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED or Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business or Kaspersky Systems Management… and all of the granular administration tools provided by Kaspersky Systems Management will be incorporated into your Kaspersky Security Center management console.
