Annoying update frequency
Kaspersky does a great job keeping you safe, but it will let you know about it daily, if not a few times per day. Daily, you will be notified that the databases are out of date and that you must update them immediately. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a setting to allow automatic updating.
The update window is also slow to engage, so you'll end up trying to update the databases numerous times.
If you have an expectation for this to be a low maintenance product, this is NOT for you.

Why I went with Kaspersky
Unless one is a technical wizard and able to impose known challenges upon a piece of software and analyze the result one is not going to have a meaningful basis for evaluating the efficacy of computer security software.
With that caveat in mind: I turned to Kaspersky because one of the other top three in the business (lots of black & yellow on the label) fell down and allowed me to become infected with a suite of trojans, worms, and viruses that came to me by way of a Bulk Downloading tool on one of the free photo hosting sites.
Kaspersky caught some of the infections that I was unable to clear out on y own. My old PC protection software failed to detect any of it.
So my move was driven by my observation that Kaspersky caught and dealt with more malware than the other software did. A classic no-brainer.
Since installing Kaspersky, it has warned me about loading certain executable files which, once loaded, would be able to operate independently of Kaspersky protection. This saved me from harming my system out of my own ignorance. Interestingly the only warnings I got like that were as to dangerous executables and not once over a legitimate program.
Kaspersky loads fast. It does not noticeably clog my system memory or CPU, It does not interfere with boot up. While using it, I migrated from XP pro 32bit to Windows 7 home premium retail 64bit and experienced no hitches.
So, aside from being the evil overlord of Arrakis and oppressor of the Fremen, I’m a happy Kaspersky customer

Ease of Use
I have had difficulty transferring the license to older computers. Entering activation codes and coordinating online are not as user friendly as some other virus protection programs.

Primary Mac User
Although I have been impressed with all the features included for the Windows version of Kaspersky, my issues are with the Mac version (Primary system). There seems to be an ongoing issue involving kav and when trying to shutdown the system which causes the system to hang that has remained unresolved for quite sometime and it appears may never be resolved. I also wasn't extremely impressed with the smartphone protection. Coming from Lockout I expected a bit more when it came to the phone location and wipe features. I would however say that the virus, malware.... protection is top notch. Focusing on system software until this issue with macs are resolved I can really give this product my full endorsement or recommend it to other mac users. However if you are a Windows user, given the current features and protection, this is a very good product and I would definitely recommend it. Hope that helps....

I'm no PC whizz, but an IT person recommended Kaspersky. I've had over the years, Norton, MacAfee, AVG - the whole lot. I feel this is by far the best system - doesn't slow down the system and I feel the most secure with K. Seems to catch everything.

I am extremely happy with Kaspersky and the protection and performance it grants my system. It is so easy and functionally capable that the only issue I get is when it is about to expire ... I had completely forgotten about the expiry date.
If I was to note one thing: it would be that I preferred the old interface icon or gadget. The functionality is still there with the new one it is simply that the old one looked cooler. ;-)

Excellent multi-device protection
I am a new Kaspersky convert. I have tried Symantec, McAfee and some other protection/security utilities. Kaspersky is the first one to offer me a nice 5 device package that protects my mobile devices. This is the main reason why I chose Kaspersky over the competition. I find that it does not hog my system resources on my mobile devices (or any other devices for that matter) to the point where I am able to see a significant difference.

Total and secure protection
I started using Kaspersky over a year ago, and have found it to be the best one out there. I've tried several out there, but this is the best. It caught threats and viruses when the children tried to go where they shouldn't. Parental controls are great.
