According to the results, Kaspersky Anti-Virus once again has confirmed its exclusive performance quality, significantly outperforming the competition by taking first place for level of defense against computer viruses.

In its December issue, the popular Croatian computer magazine "BUG" has published a list of the best programs for 2001. In the category "Computer Safety Programs," first place was convincingly awarded to Kaspersky Labs.

According to the results, two Kaspersky Anti-Virus versions for home users, Personal and Personal Pro, received the highest marks from the magazine's editorial staff.

The Spanish computer magazine PC Today recently conducted a comparative test of the ten most popular anti-virus packages amongst Spanish users. According to the test results, Kaspersky Anti-Virus was awarded a mark of "excellent," and was recommended by the PC Today editors as one of the best anti-viruses for protecting computers against malicious code.

In order to fairly determine that preventative measures are the best treatment, Linux Computing conducted its own independent anti-virus test for the Linux server version. Also participating in the testing were the following anti-virus developers: McAfee, Sophos, Trend Micro, F-Secure H+BEDV, Network Associates along with Kaspersky Lab. The tests were conducted at the well-known anti-virus testing center located at Magdeburg University, (www.av-test.de) operating on the SuSe-Linux 6.3, with 446 typical "in the wild" viruses and 28 Linux viruses being used as testing material.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus for the Linux server demonstrated outstanding scanning results, detecting absolutely all the aforementioned viruses utilized during the course of testing, rendering Kaspersky Lab as one of two victorious anti-virus developers receiving Linux Computing's testing award.

Kaspersky Lab is the recipient of yet another award: according to test results released by the German computer magazine PC Professionell, Kaspersky Anti-Virus is the publication's choice for small- and medium-sized businesses desiring a high-quality anti-virus at an affordable price.

In the June issue, PC Professionell has published the results from anti-virus software tests for small- and medium-sized computer networks. For purposes of the test, a twenty-workstation network operating on Windows 95/98/ME/2000 and one Windows NT server were chosen. The magazine conducted the tests on the premises of its own testing lab, introducing a serious selection of viruses including the most infamous and dangerous viruses and Internet worms, as well as malicious Java applets and Trojan programs. Nine anti-virus programs were chosen for testing: Sophos, Norman, Symantec, McAfee, Trend Micro, F-Secure, H+BEDV, Finjan and Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

In awarding the prize to Kaspersky Anti-Virus, the editorial staff noted the outstanding results of the scanning and anti-virus defense programs, the quarantine function-the isolating of suspicious files to a special directory for further investigation by the system administrator-and in addition to this, the product's relatively low cost.

For the purposes of the test, 10 of the most popular anti-virus programs in Britain were chosen: Command Anti-virus, InoculateIT, McAfee VirusScan, Norman Data Defense, Sophos, F-Secure, Trend Micro, Symantec, Frisk, and Kaspersky Anti-virus.

In its May issue, Computer Idea tested just two anti-viruses-Panda Antivirus (the local leader) and its able competitor, Kaspersky Anti-virus-comparing product functionality in a number of categories, as well as cost. In spite of several inaccuracies in accessing Kaspersky Anti-virus' capabilities-in part, the magazine incorrectly showed that the program didn't provide a compressed-file format check for PECompact and didn't provide support for ZIP and CAB archives-Kaspersky Anti-virus convincingly claimed victory over its Spanish competition.

As a result of the tests, Kaspersky Anti-Virus-leaving its competitors in the wake-once again for the second consecutive year has taken the top position according to points awarded during testing.

The popular German publication "Tomorrow" (www.tomorrow.de) dedicated the main topic of its latest issue to the comparison of anti-virus scanners. Amongst the competitors that "Tomorrow" chose as the five best anti-virus products were H+BEDV, F-Secure, Symantec, McAfee, and Kaspersky Labs.

The test was conducted in three categories: program functionality, service, and virus recognition and identification. Kaspersky Labs' anti-virus product proved itself to the magazine's editors to be convincingly simple to set up, and also displayed the highest level of virus detection - all of the harmful programs introduced during the course of the test-conducted by the well-known anti-virus test center, University of Magdeburg-were detected.

The results of the test published in the February issue of the magazine show Kaspersky Anti-Virus' prevalence over 9 other anti-virus products in all the categories tested . In conclusion, the magazine's editors said: "Kaspersky-Anti-Virus is an excellent product with an outstanding virus detection rate."
