AntiViral Toolkit Pro (AVP) for Windows operating system took first place in the comparative review, carried out in July 2000 by the European centre for information security "Secusys" (www.secusys.com).
Among the other anti-virus products featured in the review were, Grisoft AVG, Dr.Web, F-Secure Anti-Virus, CA InoculateIT, ESET NOD32, Norton AntiVirus, Panda Antivirus Platinum, Trend Micro PC-Cillin, Sophos Anti-Virus, Norman Virus Cleaner and McAfee VirusScan.
In the final results of the test AVP was rated the absolute winner, sweeping all of its competitors aside. Kaspersky's famous virus hunter is the only product to show a 100% result in detecting computer viruses and other malicious mobile code in 14 out of 17 of the existing categories, which include DOS, Windows, macro, script, Linux, batch, Java viruses, Trojans, Backdoors and Internet worms. In the other 3 categories, AVP also performed impressively, scoring an outstanding 99% and 99,99% detection rate.
