Award-winning antivirus software
When buying antivirus software, try products such as Kaspersky antivirus software that have the prestigious VB100 seal of approval.
In UK-based comparative tests, the British magazine Virus Bulletin has awarded Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0 and 8.0 for Windows Servers with the prestigious VB100 award.
In order to display the VB100 logo, an antivirus program must:
- Detect all ‘WildList’ viruses in on-demand and on-access scanning
- Not mistakenly find a virus when scanning a set of clean files
What is the ‘WildList’?
The WildList Organization is a group that collects monthly virus reports from antivirus experts around the world.
This data is compiled to create The WildList – a list of viruses currently spreading throughout a diverse user population.
A virus reported by two or more WildList experts will appear in the top half of the list. It is deemed to be 'In the Wild'.
About Virus Bulletin and VB100
Within a few years of its launch, Virus Bulletin began carrying out independent comparative tests of antivirus programs. Today, its unique VB100 certification scheme is widely recognized within the industry.
Unlike other certification schemes, Virus Bulletin tests all products free of charge and does not allow re-testing. This means that antivirus protection results are reported exactly as it is performs.
Virus Bulletin has carried out numerous independent comparative tests of antivirus programs. The tests focus on virus detection rates and scanning speed, as well as looking at how each product does when it comes to scanning a set of files that are known to be clean.
The tests in which Kaspersky antivirus software won the accolade saw 33 popular programs go through rigorous testing.
Virus Bulletin experts expressed their approval of the user-friendly multimedia interface, easy installation, high-speed performance and levels of protection offered by Kaspersky Lab's products.
Kaspersky’s antivirus programs demonstrated a 100 per cent detection rate for WildList threats. And in fact Kaspersky Lab solutions have consistently demonstrated excellent results in testing carried out by Virus Bulletin.
