Conference Format and Participation

Participation is free. All copyrights observed. Research papers published at www.kaspersky.com

Language: English, Chinese (only for students from China)

In order to take part in the conference, please fill in the web form that can be found here and submit your research in either .ZIP or .RAR format (the .ZIP or .RAR file must contain two documents, .DOC format – i.e. an abstract of your paper and your paper).

Submissions will be accepted until December 1st, 2011 (inclusive)

The authors of the best research papers, as assessed by the program committee, will be invited to present their work at the Conference. Expenses (travel and hotel) may be paid for participants from other cities and countries, at the discretion of Kaspersky Lab.

If successful, applicants will be notified in February, 2012. Conference applicants will receive notification by email. A list of the best reports will be published on the conference website.

One speaker representing each submitted work will be considered as an official conference participant. There is no limit on the number of authors involved with each submission.

(The final paper should be translated into English in order to attend the Asia Pacific & MEA Cup)

Please include the following on the title page:

• The title of the paper
• The name of the category for which the paper is being submitted
• The author(s) full name(s) in alphabetical order, if there are several authors
• Date of birth (of each author)
• E-Mail address (mandatory) (of each author)
• Postal address (incl. postcode) (of each author)
• Phone number (incl. country code) (of each author)
• City, Country (of each author)
• Year of study, Course Title (of each author)
• Name of the University/ Institute (of each author)
• The professor managing the research: full name, position, academic degree and title and E-Mail address
• Language: English, Chinese (only for students from China)

The abstract of your paper should be no more than a page long and yet give a complete summary of your research. This is a synopsis of the whole document, which should allow the reader to gain an understanding of the objectives and outcome of the actual paper. It is brief and to the point, normally between 130-200 words maximum.

Your papers should contain the following:

• A clear Introduction to the topic and aims of the paper
• A section presenting background/ literature review
• One of more sections presenting the student's main contribution (i.e. approach and any associated results)
• A clear conclusion
• References in Harvard standard format

Both your abstract and your research paper must be submitted in MS Word (2003–2007, *.doc or *.rtf).

Layout directives:

• Recommended number of words for the paper: 5,500 words maximum
• Font: Times New Roman 12
• Margins: top, bottom and left - 2.5 cm; right - 1.5 cm
• Spacing: single-spaced
• Illustrations must be contrasted, black and white without small details.

Please also include all source files in .jpeg, .jpg or .tiff formats. Illustrations should be at least 400x400 pixels.

The program committee consists of the experts of Kaspersky Lab and the professors all around the world.
Your paper will be evaluated by the following criteria:

• Innovation value
• Practical value
• Social importance and relevance of the work
• Scientific and methodological level of the work
• Completeness of the contents
• Objectivity of the information and analytical materials
