Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 receive top accolades and excellent reviews

Kaspersky Lab, a leading provider of security solutions that protect against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware, crimeware, rootkits, phishing, hacker attacks and spam, is receiving acknowledgement from the UK technology media for its 2009 home user products, Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky® Anti-Virus 2009, following their launch on 1st July.

Kaspersky Lab’s award-winning Kaspersky® Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky® Anti-Virus 2009 set new standards with a new antivirus engine for dramatically improved protection, performance and reliability - and a new user interface now makes this product even easier to use. Kaspersky® Internet Security 2009 also includes a two-way firewall, parental control features - and a virtual keyboard for safer online banking.

The many plaudits for Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 include a ‘Good Buy’ award and maximum five star score in the October edition of Computer Buyer (published online at: www.pcpro.co.uk/buyer/reviews/218985/kaspersky-internet-security-2009.html). The product was praised for its innovation and protection, “We rarely see a new security suite that introduces really innovative ways to protect your PC.” The efficient performance was endorsed stating, “…the whole thing takes up only 50MB of hard drive space. To put this into perspective, F-Secure 2008 requires 500 MB and Norton 360 300MB. The Kaspersky suite not only saves space, it didn’t adversely affect our PC’s performance while in use, and didn’t noticeably slow down startup.” Finally ease of use was also brought to the fore, “The suite has a pleasingly simple control panel from which features can be enabled or disabled with a few clicks. There are no confusing trademarked names in place of proper descriptions, as with rivals such as Norton.” The review concludes that, “Kaspersky has set the standard for others to follow.”

The accolades continue in October edition of PC Advisor magazine (also published online at: www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/index.cfm?reviewid=2278) where it was awarded four stars, the reviewer stating: “KIS 2009 is a worthwhile upgrade to its predecessor: it offers a very attractive combination of features and protection at a good price. Factor in its low impact on system resources and being light on its feet and KIS 2009 becomes a worthy rival to the likes of Norton 360 et al.” Another product review by the online publication Pocket-Lint (www.pocket-lint.co.uk/reviews/review_summary.phtml/3305/4329/Kaspersky-Internet-Security-2009-review.phtml) adds: “Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 is a great all-round package.”

Meanwhile, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 has been awarded the coveted ‘6-Star Recommended’ and ‘A List’ awards by PC Pro magazine (www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/215343/kaspersky-antivirus-2009.html). The product was described as: “More approachable than ever, with excellent malware detection in an affordable package. The most obvious change is the updated interface. It's cleaner and simpler than earlier versions.” The changes to the antivirus engine were also noted, “There are some changes under the bonnet too. Kaspersky 2009 boasts an updated virus-scanning engine, which is designed to make use of multiple CPU cores to speed up security scans. It's also the first version of Kaspersky to use whitelisting. Thankfully, these new features haven't bloated the package's footprint. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 added 46MB to our RAM footprint - pleasingly small by the standards of commercial AV packages.”

Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 provide home PC and laptop users with all-in-one security for worry-free computing. Hourly updates, consistently high detection rates, a low impact on resources and free telephone technical support have made Kaspersky Labs the UK’s 2nd most popular choice for Internet security.

Both products are available for purchase online and in store with over 1000 retailers including Amazon.co.uk, Bennetts, Currys, Dabs.com, eBuyer, Harrods, Micro Anvika, PC World, Play.com, Selfridges, Staples, WHSmith and others from RRP £29.99.
