Kaspersky Lab successfully extends Checkmark certification
28 Oct 2004
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, has passed Checkmark certification for Kaspersky® Anti-Virus. West Coast Labs (www.check-mark.com), an independent UK-based research and testing laboratory conducts regular rigorous quality tests of computer security products.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus has received Checkmark certification since 1998, when Kaspersky Lab presented Kaspersky Anti-Virus 3.0 for testing. Kaspersky products have achieved high results throughout this period.
West Coast Labs tests content security solutions in a series of progressive tests: Level 1, Level 2 and Trojan. All products are tested on a variety of Windows platforms: Windows 98, Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional. The Anti-Virus Level 1 test proves that the solution detects all viruses in the current Wildlist collection (www.wildlist.org).
The Anti-Virus Level 2 tests demonstrate 100% disinfection of all viruses from the Wildlist collection: disinfection is defined as restoring infected files and boot sectors to their original state. The Trojan tests check that the solution detects all of the Trojans in the West Coast Labs collection.
Kaspersky Lab passed all three tests and has extended Checkmark certification.
