Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces restructuring of its territory office in Istanbul, Turkey. The company is among the leading players in the Turkish IT security market and has successfully conducted operations in the region via its partners for a number of years. Recognizing the enormous potential of the Turkish market, and as part of its ongoing plans to develop and invest in its business in the region, Kaspersky Lab’s management made the decision to further strengthen its local representative through reorganization. Once completed, the changes will greatly enhance the effectiveness of the company’s operations in the region.

Kaspersky Lab opened its territory office in Istanbul in 2008. Since entering the Turkish market, Kaspersky Lab has managed to capture about 40%% of the home user sales sector, according to the company’s estimates. However, that success has not been reflected in the corporate business sector where Kaspersky Lab’s share does not yet exceed 4%. Given the sizeable corporate IT security market and high demand from SMBs and larger organizations for security solutions, it is clear that Kaspersky Lab’s regional management team need to adopt a different strategic model in order to realize the company’s growth potential in this sector. As such, Kaspersky Lab are currently in the process of implementing a series of changes in the management structure of the Turkish office that are designed to more clearly reflect the company’s present priorities and development goals which include being among the top three AV vendors in the corporate segment in Turkey.

"The restructuring of the Turkish office will allow the company’s business processes to be optimized, will boost sales figures and enhance the effectiveness of management operations in the region. The newly restructured Turkish office will become part of a new and enlarged Kaspersky Lab business unit with headquarters in Dubai,” said Garry Kondakov, Managing Director Kaspersky Lab EEMEA. “Over the last two years, Kaspersky Lab’s Dubai team has achieved excellent results: the management has done a great job not only of attracting new customers but also of winning over those of our competitors. The Dubai team also has great expertise in developing and maintaining a local support infrastructure. According to IDC’s AMS Retail Channel Study, our company was ranked first in the UAE in terms of the number of products sold, with an overall market share of 37% by value in both the home user and business sectors**. In addition to the benefits already mentioned, restructuring will strengthen the level of expertise in the company’s local offices by providing much closer cooperation between divisions”.

The restructuring process means that staff at the Turkish office will continue to fulfill the vital role they play in providing technical and marketing support to Kaspersky Lab’s clients and partners in the region. We also announce that Murat Goce, Managing Director of the Turkish office, will be leaving the company on 31 March 2011.
