Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces that it has been named an official sponsor of the XI Chinese National Games.

As part of the sponsorship deal Kaspersky Lab has supplied the organizing committee of the Chinese National Games with the company’s antivirus solutions, including over 400 licenses for Kaspersky Business Space Security. Kaspersky Lab specialists will also provide technical support to all users of the products. The organizing committee’s network consists of over 1,000 workstations in 17 different cities located throughout China.

The National Games are the premier sporting event in the country. The 2009 games have been timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The Games were first held in 1959 and take place every four years. In 2009 the competition will be staged in Shandong province.

Kaspersky Lab entered the Chinese Market in 2003 and has since established a virus analysis lab and a test center in the country. Kaspersky Lab is the largest vendor of antivirus software on the Chinese retail market in terms of activated licenses. In September 2009 Eugene Kaspersky, the company’s CEO and co-founder, received the National Friendship Award of China.
