    AV-Comparatives conducted a series of tests in order to compare the effectiveness of various antivirus solutions' on-demand detection of malicious programs (by the program scanner). The testing included 17 antivirus products for home users with antivirus databases that were dated August 5, 2007. The sample of malicious programs used in the tests appeared after this date.

    Based on the results, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 was awarded the highest certification—Advanced+, which confirms the program has the highest level of detection of new malicious programs with minimal false positives using the antivirus program's heuristic analyzer.

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Novell NetWare has been awarded the prestigious VB100 award from Virus Bulletin, a respected British IT magazine. According to Virus Bulletin experts, “Kaspersky Lab has clearly devoted a little more effort to NetWare than many other vendors.” As a result, “[threat] detection figures were as excellent as ever and with no misses and no false positives.” In addition, John Hawes, the author of the review, mentioned that he was pleasantly surprised with the speed of on-demand file scanning. The excellent detection quality with no false positives has brought Kaspersky Anti-Virus one more well-deserved VB100 award.

    Based on the results of comparative testing conducted by AV Comparatives, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 was given the highest level of certification for on-demand scanning: Advanced+. The results were based on tests conducted to determine the effectiveness of detection of malicious software, including worms, Trojans and polymorphic viruses.

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 received a VB100 award for its performance on the Windows Vista x64 Business Edition platform. In the course of testing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0, the author of the review John Hawes noted the new product’s “fine-grained configurability” and “the solid thoroughness of the detection”: during scanning, and all of the malicious programs from the Virus Bulleting test set were successfully removed while legitimate programs caused no false positives.

    New Kaspersky Lab products, Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0, have both been granted the Certified for Windows Vista logo. The home-user products were certified following successful testing at the Veritest certification lab. The Certified for Windows Vista logo program confirms that the products tested are not only fully compatible with Windows Vista, but also demonstrate exceptional stability under both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the new operating system.

    In order to be awarded the Certified for Windows Vista logo, a product must meet a number of requirements, such as compliance of the program’s installation and removal procedures with Microsoft standards; compatibility with standard Windows Vista applications; as well as error-free operation and compatibility with the operating system.

    Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 has been certified under both Desktop/Server Anti-Virus Detection and Anti-Virus Cleaning Criteria for Microsoft Windows Vista. To be awarded an ICSA Labs certificate, a product should detect and remove all malicious programs from the test set without any false positives and without damaging any files that it disinfects. The tests conducted by ICSA Labs experts on a 32 bit version of Windows Vista prove that Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 meets the highest standards of antivirus protection by detecting and removing all malicious program samples on the infected computer.

    AV-Comparatives conducted a new comparative test to determine the effectiveness of on-demand malicious software detection provided by different antivirus products. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 proved to be almost 100% effective at detecting malicious programs, including worms, Trojans and polymorphic viruses. According to experts of the AV-Comparatives lab, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 is also one of the fastest in detecting new malware samples.

    Based on the testing results, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 was awarded a certificate of the top level, ADVANCED+. It should also be noted that three of the other five products that received an ADVANCED+ certificate (eScan Anti-Virus 8.0, F-Secure Anti-Virus 2007 and G-Data Anti Virus Kit) use Kaspersky Lab’s antivirus engine. According to AV-Comparatives expert Andreas Clementi, “all products in the ADVANCED+ category offer a very high level of on-demand detection.”

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 wins the Virus Bulletin 100% award for effective protection of Windows Vista-based systems. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 passed the test with flying colors: it detected and removed 100% of all the malicious programs used in the test. Virus Bulletin experts also mentioned the product’s easy-to-use interface, its high performance and file scanning quality.

    For providing a high level of security for home platforms based on the Windows Vista operating system, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 was recognized as one of the best IT security products on the market and received the Virus Bulletin 100% award.
