Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces that its new and renewed corporate products have earned a number of Checkmark Platinum Product Award certifications from the authoritative West Coast Labs independent test facility.
The Checkmark Platinum Product Award certificates have been awarded to seven business-class security solutions for servers and workstations running on various platforms: Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Exchange Servers, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Server, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Lotus Domino, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for ISA/TMG, Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Mac, and Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Linux.
Modern corporate networks are exposed to numerous types of malware threats; some of them are known, but many others are new, zero-day threats for which no signatures exist. In some cases new malware can only be detected after a suspicious object has been launched on a computer. This means comprehensive protection has to be proactive and multi-layered.
The Checkmark Platinum Product Award test program is designed to assess the performance of security solutions in scenarios that resemble the actual working environment of corporate computers as closely as possible. Products are tested continually - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year in the West Coast Labs Real Time test network against malware threats in a variety of attack vectors through which the individual malware samples propagate.
As an extension of the Real Time test program, а broad range of additional security products were tested, with the solutions not only pitted against malware samples collected in advance but also against current threats arriving in real time from West Coast Labs' global research and collection network. The malware threats were delivered to the products under test via a variety of protocols, including email traffic, infected sites, FTP and P2P attack vectors.
Following rigorous multi-level testing by West Coast Labs, the Kaspersky Lab solutions received Checkmark Platinum Product Award certification, with the Company's versatile products demonstrating excellent detection rates for both known and new threats on all platforms.
"Our success in Checkmark's Real Time testing program reflects the massive concentration of expertise that has gone into further improving and expanding the quality of protection we offer against the new malware threats that are emerging today at an ever-increasing rate," says Keith Maskell, Vice President of Corporate Business at Kaspersky Lab. “Our wide new range of corporate products enables our customers to maintain state-of-the-art, multi-layered anti-malware strategies across modern heterogeneous IT infrastructures, with a level of performance and Total Cost of Protection that truly meets their business needs.
According to Lysa Myers, director of research, West Coast Labs, "With the unrelenting increase in malware attacks throughout the world, anti-malware products must continually demonstrate the strength of their products to protect against both new and entrenched malware threats. Kaspersky's commitment to continual, independent validation of product performance through the Real Time testing program clearly illustrates the confidence they have in the the strength of their products to protect users against the wide variety of threats in the malware landscape."
