Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Palm OS protects FB4 Users
04 Mar 2004
Kaspersky Lab, a leading information security software developer and FB4, a leading US company creating innovative mobile and personal computing security solutions that prevent intrusions and data compromises have signed an agreement about technology partnering.
Kaspersky Lab' antivirus technologies for Palm OS will serve as the basis for a new FB4 product. FB4 conducted preliminary comparative tests of antivirus solutions for Palm OS from various vendors and the Kaspersky Lab' solution proved superior in scanning and disinfection. As a result, FB4 chose the Kaspersky Lab' product for developing FB4 PalmVirusGuard.
FB4 is a world leader in personal and enterprise information security solutions. The company offers products ranging from SmartPhones and handhelds to notebooks and workstations. FB4 provides multi-platform solutions that fit the requirements of today's business environment. At the same time, the FB4 portfolio contains products designed to protect home computers and other electronic devices.
The FB4 product portfolio for popular Palm handhelds is now reinforced with licensed Kaspersky Lab antivirus technologies for Palm OS - FB4 PalmVirusGuard. The new product will have a new interface and will support PALM OS5, the latest version for Palm computers. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Palm OS will provide an effective foundation for protection against malicious programs.
"The main reason FB4 has been so successful in the highly competitive information security market is our unique combinations of complementary products. We offer integrated security solutions for business clients that encompass entire networks, including mobile SmartPhones and pocket computers. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Palm OS provided a missing link in our security profile. It ensures effective protection against malicious programs for handhelds", commented George Tuvell, FB4 co-owner.
"Despite the fact that handhelds are a recent innovation, they are already extremely popular worldwide. Moreover, handhelds have already become important tools in today's business world, but the popularity of mobile devices also has its down side, attracting the attention of virus writers. We are pleased that FB4 is taking the security needs of Palm users into account before handhelds are swamped by viruses," commented Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Kaspersky Lab' Business Development Director.
