Kaspersky Lab will reveal the results of an exclusive survey of corporate IT security risk that was carried across in 11 countries. The survey took in companies from different business areas and of different sizes, including small, medium and enterprise-scale entities.
The survey represents a thorough analysis of the IT security picture in the different markets and across a range of companies and reveals how IT security is prioritized against other business requirements and threats. It demonstrates how prepared and confident businesses are in dealing with different kinds of security threats as well as providing an insight into their corporate IT security policies. To demonstrate the scale of the issue, the survey provides information about the types of threats experienced and the financial costs involved. Additionally, the influence of new technologies in managing threats to corporate IT infrastructures is analyzed in order to demonstrate the impact of IT consumerization.

"Corporate Incidents: Lessons Learned"
Over the last 12 months Kaspersky Lab has responded to numerous incidents in which our corporate customers’ networks have been targeted. As a result, Kaspersky Lab’s experts have noticed that in order to perpetrate new attacks and penetrate corporate boundaries, malware writers have developed a whole new array of methodologies. Today’s malware authors create code that uses social engineering tricks and they have detailed knowledge of how data is processed and how file sharing services are configured. This means that they can take advantage of typical security policy design flaws such as partially protected network environments, missing security updates, network share configuration issues and other similar weaknesses.
During his presentation, Alexey will discuss a number of different malware-related incidents that have occurred around the world and will look at the reasons why attacks on corporate network have proven so successful. In addition, he will outline simple methods for identifying and mitigating IT threats and offer advice on preventing malware from damaging corporate infrastructures based on what has been learned from these real-world incidents.

Having closely scrutinized this black market, Dmitry will present his findings regarding how such entities mimic real-world market conditions where prices, stock and trends are constantly changing. He concludes that society is facing a world in which the slogan “steal everything” is king. In his presentation, Dmitry will outline the latest statistics concerning malware attacks designed to steal information and will discuss how these attacks have grown over the last 5 years. Additionally, he will be providing examples of new tools that have become available on the black market which show that everyday crime and cybercrime are converging fast. Dmitry will also talk about the major players in the world of cybercrime and discuss what motivates them to produce malware and how their businesses operate.
Finally, Dmitry will look at the economic impact of cybercrime and how it compares with other highly profitable businesses, as well as the current situation regarding legislation designed to stop or at least reduce cybercrime.
