IT Security Conference for the New Generation - SE Asia

'IT Security for the Next Generation' student conference held in Malaysia

On October 15, 2009 the results of the conference’s Malaysian Cup were announced, with the winners coming from Malaysian universities. Eugene Kaspersky personally awarded prizes for the top three projects at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Kuala Lumpur. The projects were dedicated to data protection on social networking sites and the detection of malicious threats. The students were awarded $1,000 in prize money from the South-East Asian office of the company and the opportunity to participate in the International Cup, which will take place in April 2010 and brings together the winners of the Asian, European and Russian-CIS rounds. The majority of projects received were in the 'Measuring malware/spam' and 'Future ICT-related problems' categories.
